There’s nothing like a freshly made tomato soup in the fall or winter. This soup starts with one can of crushed tomatoes and one can of diced tomatoes with basil.

There's nothing like a freshly made tomato soup in the fall or winter. This soup starts with 2 cans of diced tomatoes, but you could also use 1 can of crushed tomatoes and 1 can of diced tomatoes with basil.

Instructions
  1. Puree one can of the tomatoes in a nutribullet or blender. Don't puree the other can to for a mixed texture, or puree both cans for a smoother texture.
  2. Add all tomatoes into a small saucepan. Add the rest of the ingredients.
  3. Cover and heat over medium-high heat until it reaches a simmer, then turn down the heat to a low simmer until warm.
